Royal Air Maroc has decided to rely on Open Innovation to accelerate its digital transformation process and the deployment of new high value-added services. Thus, Royal Air Maroc in partnership with Boeing and General Electric, organized its first Open Innovation program, #RAM747, which aimed to accelerate the global innovation movement within the Company to sustain it over time.
LaStartupFactory defined and implemented this exceptional program to support the Group's customer-centric strategy. This Open Innovation program culminated in a unique Hackathon, held in a Boeing 747 specially fitted out for the occasion. Three days of total immersion, reflection and innovation to make the journey a positive step in the life of the Customer, accompanying him in his own realization.
Among the 120 participants, representatives of the Company's ecosystem (including the Office National des Aéroports), representatives of the Moroccan, Senegalese, Ivorian, Nigerian and Ghanaian entrepreneurial ecosystems were selected following an unprecedented tour carried out in collaboration with local incubators: MEST Africa, Incub'Ivoir and CTIC.
At the end of a long process, consisting of a hackathon, an 8-week mentoring and coaching immersion, a bootcamp, a demo day and an acceleration phase, three projects were finally selected for implementation.
The national airline has signed a partnership with the Nigerian startup Amplify to develop an innovative solution for booking airline tickets. This agreement is part of the airline's continuous improvement process, particularly in terms of customer experience.
Royal Air Maroc employees are not left out since two of their projects are also part of the projects that will be implemented.
